April 21st, Midwest Dirt Racing Association dirt oval racing on the outdoor oval. This race is also a D.O.D.C. points race.

May 18th & 19th - RC Pro Series Division Race on the new outdoor dirt offroad track at Fastlane. Their will also be an RC Pro Series Missouri State Series race later in the summer.

Also I'll remind everyone that we're running on a new layout tomorrow night (Wed Jan 18th) on the offroad track. Spencer has cooked up something a little different this time which we think should be fun for everyone.

I thought I'd give everyone a head's up on some upcoming "events" at Fastlane:

New Track Build - we will be doing a new layout beginning after racing on January 14th. That means no off road practice on Monday, the 16th but racing on a new layout on Wednesday the 18th.

January Carpet Oval Sunday - January 15th

Racer Appreciation Day - we'll be serving free pizza on Saturday, the 21st, our first Saturday racing on the new layout. Papa Johns pizza will be served at around 5 PM.

January Carpet On Road Points Sunday - January 22nd

Also, reserve the weekend of March 3rd and 4th. We are planning an off road trophy race and those currently look like the best dates. There would be practice Friday afternoon / night with qualifying runs on Saturday and Mains on Sunday. More to come shortly.

We are running points series this winter for carpet oval and on-road.

Carpet Oval Dates are: Oct 2, Nov 6, Dec 4, Jan 15, Feb 12, Mar 18 and Apr 15

Classes will be Transmission Oval, BRL 17.5 Sportsman Truck, BRL 17.5 Open Stock, and BRL 13.5 Stock Spec. Best 5 of 7 finishes determine points finish.

Carpet On Road dates are: Oct 16th, Nov 13, Dec 18, Jan 22, Feb 19, and Mar 25.

Classes are:

- Sportsman Stock TC - 17.5 motors, 7.4v ROAR approved battery, no timing ESC's or blinky mode, any rubber tire, 4WD TC, 1400 gm minimum

- Super Stock TC - 17.5 motors, 7.4v ROAR approved battery, open ESC, spec rubber tire (Sweep 28 or 30), 4WD TC, 1400 gm minimum

- 12th scale stock - 13.5 motors, 3.7v ROAR approved battery, ESC's w/o timing or ESC's in blinky mode, foam tires, 730 gm minimum

- VTA - USVTA rules (http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/2010rules.pdf) except for driver & paint scheme requirements

Best 4 of 6 finishes.

Fastlane will be closed, Sunday, October 9th. We'll all be at the races at one track or another. We'll re-open on Monday, October 10th on our normal schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this may create for our customers.

Although many of our off road racers switch to outdoor racing on weekends during the summer months, there are still racers who prefer the action of electric cars indoors. And on sweltering hot summer days, the air conditioning inside Fastlane is an extra bonus.

For those racers who prefer the indoor electric action, Real R-C at Fastlane Raceway will be operating during the summer months. The schedule for the 2011 Summer Indoor Season will be:

Practice every Monday from 5 PM to 9 PM.
Off Road Racing every Wednesday. Doors open at 5 PM, racing starts at 7 PM.

Best 4 of 6 races will count towards the points championship with trophies awarded to the top 3 finishers in each class.

Fastlane Raceway will host 2 events for the newly formed Midwest Dirt Racing Association as part of our 2011 dirt oval season. The MDRA has already run 3 successful events with large fields to start their 2011 season. Round 4 of the MDRA points series will be held at Fastlane on April 30th and Fastlane will also host the MDRA Finals on September 24th. Fastlane is excited to make this new series a part of our dirt oval program. Featuring a mix of nitro and electric classes, MDRA events offer exciting action for everyone.

We'll open our 2011 season with a practice day on the oval on April 16th. The track will be prepped but there will not be any timing or scoring. The complete season schedule is:

We will run MDRA classes as part of our regular racing program (link to their rules is: http://www.dirtoval.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58605 ) as well as classes for Stock Slash, Open 2WD Short Course Trucks and Open 4WD Short Course Trucks using the same rules we use on the dirt off road track. We will add classes depending on interest and we are always willing to make a class for any 3 cars with similar specifications.

The Heart of America Series opening round which will be hosted by Fastlane Raceway and held at Kansas Speedway on May 1st & 2nd, the same weekend as the IRL and NASCAR truck races.

Classes will be 1/10 .12 nitro 4wd sedan, 1/8 scale on road Sports Car and 1/8 scale IGT. We will also run electric 4wd TC (rubber tires / open motor) if we get at least 3 entries.

The track will be set up in the souvenir area in front of the track to the south of the main entrance (same area as last year). Parking will also be in the same area as last year approximately 50 yds from the track. Pits will be on the grass adjacent to the track. If you have a race trailer it can be set up in this area but tow vehicles (& motor homes) will need to be parked in the designated parking area. No overnight camping is allowed in this area. You will need to bring your own pit tables and chairs. You will also need a special pass to park in the area designated for R/C racers. Please e-mail your address to info@fastlanehobbies.com so we can mail your parking passes in advance wherever possible. We are racing outside the fenced area so a ticket to the IRL / Truck race isn't needed in order to participate in the HOA race or watch the HOA races.

There will be a guard on duty in our pit area Saturday night so anyone who wants to leave their pit trailer / pit equipment on site should be able to do so with confidence.

Track should be ready for practice by 8:00AM on both Saturday and Sunday. Because of the schedule for the “big” cars, we will run all 4 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. Please see the flyers for the provisional schedule. We may adjust these times as needed due. Personal transponders are required.

With it being a race weekend we weren’t able to get a discount established at any of the nearby hotels and most of those very near the track are sold out. However, there are lots of hotel rooms in the Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO area which should still be available.

Entry fee is $30 for the first class and $15 for any additional classes.

We've updated our calendar in the Racing Schedule section of our website to reflect our summer schedule with dirt oval and asphalt racing added to our racing program for the warmer months.

It'll be a busy and exciting summer as we alternate dirt off road (indoor) and dirt oval (outdoors) racing on Saturdays and a mix of asphalt on road, carpet on road and carpet oval on Sundays. Check the calendar for the complete schedule and hours of operation.

We will be closed on Easter weekend, April 3rd & 4th and again on the first weekend in May (1st & 2nd) for our second annual race at Kansas Speedway.

Trophies will be awarded in all classes (oval and onroad) where at least 4 different drivers scored points in at least 3 of the scheduled events. Points will be calculated based on a driver's best 4 finishes out of the 6 dates.

We will be closed on Friday, Christmas Day, December 25th. We will be open on Saturday, Dec 26th for off road racing and on Sunday, Dec 27th for carpet on road.
