REVISED SUMMER SCHEDULE
Due to the Asphalt On Road Nationals being run in Lincoln, NE on June 13th we've revised our Sunday race schedule for the month of June.
We will move our Asphalt Sunday to June 20th and our Carpet Oval Sunday to June 27th. We'll run carpet on road on June 13th and June 20th (along with the asphalt racing). The calendar in the Racing Schedule section has been updated to reflect these changes. (sticky) Jun 8th, 2010 (7:19 PM)2010 HEART OF AMERICA SERIES OPENING ROUND
The Heart of America Series opening round which will be hosted by Fastlane Raceway and held at Kansas Speedway on May 1st & 2nd, the same weekend as the IRL and NASCAR truck races.
Classes will be 1/10 .12 nitro 4wd sedan, 1/8 scale on road Sports Car and 1/8 scale IGT. We will also run electric 4wd TC (rubber tires / open motor) if we get at least 3 entries. The track will be set up in the souvenir area in front of the track to the south of the main entrance (same area as last year). Parking will also be in the same area as last year approximately 50 yds from the track. Pits will be on the grass adjacent to the track. If you have a race trailer it can be set up in this area but tow vehicles (& motor homes) will need to be parked in the designated parking area. No overnight camping is allowed in this area. You will need to bring your own pit tables and chairs. You will also need a special pass to park in the area designated for R/C racers. Please e-mail your address to info@fastlanehobbies.com so we can mail your parking passes in advance wherever possible. We are racing outside the fenced area so a ticket to the IRL / Truck race isn't needed in order to participate in the HOA race or watch the HOA races. There will be a guard on duty in our pit area Saturday night so anyone who wants to leave their pit trailer / pit equipment on site should be able to do so with confidence. Track should be ready for practice by 8:00AM on both Saturday and Sunday. Because of the schedule for the “big” cars, we will run all 4 rounds of qualifying on Saturday. Please see the flyers for the provisional schedule. We may adjust these times as needed due. Personal transponders are required. With it being a race weekend we weren’t able to get a discount established at any of the nearby hotels and most of those very near the track are sold out. However, there are lots of hotel rooms in the Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO area which should still be available. Entry fee is $30 for the first class and $15 for any additional classes. A flyer for the event can be found at any of the following links: http://www.rctech.net/forum/kansas-missouri-racing/373633-hoa-season-opener-mark-your-calendars.html#post7267503 http://www.heartlandrc.com/showthread.php?7843-2010-HOA-SEASON-OPENER-MAY-1st-amp-2nd See ya at the races...... (sticky) Apr 14th, 2010 (6:23 PM)SUMMER SCHEDULE POSTED

Check the calendar for the complete schedule and hours of operation. We will be closed on Easter weekend, April 3rd & 4th and again on the first weekend in May (1st & 2nd) for our second annual race at Kansas Speedway. Our schedule during the week is unchanged from our winter schedule. The weekend summary by type of racing follows: INDOOR DIRT OFF ROAD April 10th & 24th May 15th & 29th June 12th & 26th July 1oth & 24th August 7th & 21st September 4th & 18th October 2nd & 16th with weekly off road expected to return on the 23rd. See ya at the races..... (sticky) Mar 22nd, 2010 (7:52 PM)Losi Mini Late Model Class Rules Update
This is an update to reflect the evolution of this class over the last year. The intent is still to keep costs for a competitive car under control. Our "house" Late Model class is essentially a stock class allowing only normal tuning and upgrades designed to limit breakage or maintenance costs. If 3 or more racers show up with cars with more modifications we are willing to run them together in their own class.
Stock Losi Mini Late Model - run "out of the box" with the following allowable changes: - Changes to springs / shock oil / spring spacers / internal limiters. Losi Aluminum shocks are permitted. - Adjustments to toe & camber. If a racer wants to upgrade to the Losi titanium link set / heavy duty ball cups to minimize breakage, we permit it but don't encourage it. The use of aftermarket steering bellcranks / links is permitted. - Any Losi tire / wheel combination made for Mini Slider or Mini Late Model - 6 cell NiMH batteries only. Maximum 1600 mAhr - Stock motors. Brushes & springs may be replaced. Due to the need to replace the stock motor frequently we have decided to allow the use of the Mamba 4200 KV brushless motor with the Mamba 25 or Mamba Sidewinder Micro ESC. We've tested this combination against stock motors and found the speeds to be comparable. So an upgrade to the Mamba should not be necessary in order to run competitive times. - Stock differential (shimming allowed) or Losi Ball diff (PN LOSB1125) - Electronics: Any brushed ESC, servo or receiver may be used. Any compatible radio may be used. - The pinion / spur gear may be replaced to alter the gear ratio. - Losi and McAllister Late Model bodies and McAllister COT bodies intended for use on the Losi Late Model may be used. - Fasteners may be replaced with alternates of same size (sticky) Jul 22nd, 2009 (9:42 AM)Winter Points Series and Holiday Schedule
Here is the schedule for our winter points series for Sundays.
Carpet Oval Sunday Series Nov 15th Dec 6th Jan 3rd Feb 7th Mar 7th Apr 18th No onroad racing on these Sundays, but we invite our onroad racers to join us and try turning left only. If we get at least 3 of any onroad class we'll run that class on the oval. Pan car rules per BRL plus 17.5 Sportsman truck per TOUR rules. Losi Slider and Losi Mini Late Model Classes per Fastlane rules. Carpet Onroad Sunday Series Nov 22nd Dec 20th Jan 10th Feb 21st Mar 21st Apr 11th Classes are 13.5 12th scale, 17.5 TC, 13.5 TC, Sportsman TC, VTA, Tamiya Mini, and 18th scale 4WD. Trophies will be awarded in all classes (oval and onroad) where at least 4 different drivers scored points in at least 3 of the scheduled events. Points will be calculated based on a driver's best 4 finishes out of the 6 dates. We will be closed on Friday, Christmas Day, December 25th. We will be open on Saturday, Dec 26th for off road racing and on Sunday, Dec 27th for carpet on road. Nov 29th, 2009 (11:39 AM)SUMMER IS SPECIAL AT FASTLANE

We're making some changes in our Late Model class rules. The intent is still to keep costs for a competitive car under control. Our "house" Late Model class is essentially a stock class allowing only normal tuning and upgrades designed to limit breakage or maintenance costs. If 3 or more racers show up with cars with more modifications we are willing to run them together in their own class. The changes from our previous rules are to allow Mamba 4200 KV motors, and some selected aluminum aftermarket upgrades.
- Any Losi tire / wheel combination made for Mini Slider or Mini Late Model (we've found the stock tires work well on the carpet right out of the box without needing CA or traction compound) - 6 cell NiMH batteries only. Maximum 1400 mAhr - Stock motors. Brushes & springs may be replaced. Due to the need to replace the stock motor frequently we have decided to allow the use of the Mamba 4200 KV brushless motor with the Mamba 25 or Mamba Sidewinder Micro ESC. We've tested this combination against stock motors and found the speeds to be comparable with the maximum gear ratio noted below. - Stock differential (shimming allowed) or Losi Ball diff (PN LOSB1125) - Electronics: Stock receiver, ESC and servo must be used. Any compatible radio may be used. - The pinion / spur gear may be replaced to alter the gear ratio. If using the Mamba 4200 KV motor the spur gear must be 58T or larger and the pinion must be 22T or smaller. - Stock body must be used but custom painted Losi clear bodies can be substituted for the RTR body. - Fasteners may be replaced with alternates of same size Please note that the motor rule change does not apply to the Summer Carpet Oval Series events. We don't feel it is right to change in the middle of a points series. So for these Saturday events, stock Losi motors must be used. Aug 1st, 2008 (11:40 AM)We're Cooler Than Ever
Just in time for the official start of Summer, Fastlane is now air conditioned! Come on out and race carpet on road or oval in air conditioned comfort at KC's finest RC facility.
Jun 23rd, 2008 (6:25 PM)Losi Late Model Carpet Oval Class
Like many tracks, Fastlane depends on developing a flow of new racers. This is a challenge because the "start up" costs for many classes can be significant. One solution to this problem for carpet oval racing is a stock class for the new Team Losi 1/18th scale Mini Late Model. These cars run well on our carpet oval right out of the box. Add a couple extra batteries (and a fast charger if needed) to the Losi RTR package and you're racing. In order to keep costs for a competitive car under control, here are the rules we're following for the Losi Mini Late Model Stock Class:
Losi Mini Late Model - run "out of the box" with the following allowable changes: - Changes to springs / shock oil / spring spacers / internal limiters - Adjustments to toe & camber. If a racer wants to upgrade to the Losi titanium link set / heavy duty ball cups to minimize breakage, we permit it but don't encourage it. - Stock differential (shimming allowed) or Losi Ball diff (PN LOSB1125) - Electronics: Stock receiver, ESC and servo must be used. Any compatible radio may be used. - The pinion / spur gear may be replaced to alter the gear ratio. - Stock body must be used but custom painted Losi clear bodies can be substituted for the RTR body. - Fasteners may be replaced with alternates of same size We're open minded about an open, modified class for these cars if there is sufficient interest. Our policy is we'll create a class if 3 or more guys with similar cars show up and want to race. But we're committed to developing the stock, Mini Late Model class as a fun, affordable class where a new guy can start at a reasonable price and be as competitive as his (or her) driving skills allow. The majority of the guys who currently have cars and run at our place feel the same. So we can pretty much guarantee a turn out of stock Mini Late Models to run against when you come to Fastlane. Jun 20th, 2008 (9:20 AM)Fastlane Tamiya Mini Class Rules
The Tamiya Mini Class is becoming popular at Fastlane and it's time to publish the official Fastlane rules for the class. These rules are based on TCS rules as modified by the leading Mini racers in the KC area. These rules will be in effect for the upcoming Midwest Grand National On Road Race as well as weekly racing. As with any rules, Fastlane reserves the right to make changes at any time as it deems are in the best interests of competition.
