The NEW Fastlane Raceway is open
We're back! KC's finest RC racing facility is back in business with a full schedule of carpet on road and oval racing and the addition of dirt off road racing.
Our schedule is: Sunday: 10AM - 5 PM (or when on road racing finishes) Monday: 5 PM - 8 PM Tuesday: 5 PM - 11 PM (or when on road racing finishes) Wednesday: 5 PM - 11 PM (or when off road racing finishes) Thursday: 5 PM - 11 PM (or when oval racing finishes) Friday: Closed Saturday: noon - 9 PM (or when off road racing finishes) Thanks to everyone for their patience while we re-organized. We're looking forward to great times in the future. Hope to see everyone soon. Oct 28th, 2008 (10:53 PM)Losi Late Model Rules Update
We're making some changes in our Late Model class rules. The intent is still to keep costs for a competitive car under control. Our "house" Late Model class is essentially a stock class allowing only normal tuning and upgrades designed to limit breakage or maintenance costs. If 3 or more racers show up with cars with more modifications we are willing to run them together in their own class. The changes from our previous rules are to allow Mamba 4200 KV motors, and some selected aluminum aftermarket upgrades.
Stock Losi Mini Late Model - run "out of the box" with the following allowable changes: - Changes to springs / shock oil / spring spacers / internal limiters. Losi Aluminum shocks are permitted. - Adjustments to toe & camber. If a racer wants to upgrade to the Losi titanium link set / heavy duty ball cups to minimize breakage, we permit it but don't encourage it. The use of aftermarket steering bellcranks / links is permitted. - Any Losi tire / wheel combination made for Mini Slider or Mini Late Model (we've found the stock tires work well on the carpet right out of the box without needing CA or traction compound) - 6 cell NiMH batteries only. Maximum 1400 mAhr - Stock motors. Brushes & springs may be replaced. Due to the need to replace the stock motor frequently we have decided to allow the use of the Mamba 4200 KV brushless motor with the Mamba 25 or Mamba Sidewinder Micro ESC. We've tested this combination against stock motors and found the speeds to be comparable with the maximum gear ratio noted below. - Stock differential (shimming allowed) or Losi Ball diff (PN LOSB1125) - Electronics: Stock receiver, ESC and servo must be used. Any compatible radio may be used. - The pinion / spur gear may be replaced to alter the gear ratio. If using the Mamba 4200 KV motor the spur gear must be 58T or larger and the pinion must be 22T or smaller. - Stock body must be used but custom painted Losi clear bodies can be substituted for the RTR body. - Fasteners may be replaced with alternates of same size Please note that the motor rule change does not apply to the Summer Carpet Oval Series events. We don't feel it is right to change in the middle of a points series. So for these Saturday events, stock Losi motors must be used. Aug 1st, 2008 (11:40 AM)We're Cooler Than Ever
Just in time for the official start of Summer, Fastlane is now air conditioned! Come on out and race carpet on road or oval in air conditioned comfort at KC's finest RC facility.
Jun 23rd, 2008 (6:25 PM)Losi Late Model Carpet Oval Class
Like many tracks, Fastlane depends on developing a flow of new racers. This is a challenge because the "start up" costs for many classes can be significant. One solution to this problem for carpet oval racing is a stock class for the new Team Losi 1/18th scale Mini Late Model. These cars run well on our carpet oval right out of the box. Add a couple extra batteries (and a fast charger if needed) to the Losi RTR package and you're racing. In order to keep costs for a competitive car under control, here are the rules we're following for the Losi Mini Late Model Stock Class:
Losi Mini Late Model - run "out of the box" with the following allowable changes: - Changes to springs / shock oil / spring spacers / internal limiters - Adjustments to toe & camber. If a racer wants to upgrade to the Losi titanium link set / heavy duty ball cups to minimize breakage, we permit it but don't encourage it. - Stock differential (shimming allowed) or Losi Ball diff (PN LOSB1125) - Electronics: Stock receiver, ESC and servo must be used. Any compatible radio may be used. - The pinion / spur gear may be replaced to alter the gear ratio. - Stock body must be used but custom painted Losi clear bodies can be substituted for the RTR body. - Fasteners may be replaced with alternates of same size We're open minded about an open, modified class for these cars if there is sufficient interest. Our policy is we'll create a class if 3 or more guys with similar cars show up and want to race. But we're committed to developing the stock, Mini Late Model class as a fun, affordable class where a new guy can start at a reasonable price and be as competitive as his (or her) driving skills allow. The majority of the guys who currently have cars and run at our place feel the same. So we can pretty much guarantee a turn out of stock Mini Late Models to run against when you come to Fastlane. Jun 20th, 2008 (9:20 AM)FASTLANE SUMMER CARPET OVAL SERIES
Fastlane Raceway will host a summer carpet oval racing series for diehard carpet oval racers who are looking for a place to race this summer. The series will consist of 6 races with points counted from a racer's best 4 finishes. There will be awards and food at the final race of the season.

All events are one day shows with the track opening at 10 AM and the first round of qualifying scheduled for 1 PM. Classes will follow BRL rules except as noted: - Any ESC is allowed - ROAR approved 2S Lipo batteries are allowed according to the following equivalency (21.5 Lipo = 13.5 4 Cell Nimh; 17.5 Lipo = 10.5 4 cell Nimh) - Local Fastlane classes will run as well (FasTruck, Losi Slider and Losi Late Model). May 28th, 2008 (11:38 AM)2008 Fastlane Raceway Midwest Grand National Carpet On Road Race
Fastlane Raceway will again host the Midwest Grand National Carpet On Road Race on April 12th and 13th. Past Midwest Grand National Events have provided exciting, action packed racing on the Fastlane rug and 2008 is expected to see more of the same. Local Fastlane racers did extremely well in the recent ROAR Nationals in Omaha and are looking forward to racing with some of the Midwest's finest on their home track. The newly renovated track with adjacent pit space and hobby shop provide one of the finest racing environments in the midwest.
Additional information will be posted on this site as the event approaches. And you can follow discussions about the event and find entry forms on the following forums: Heartland RC RC Tech Mar 26th, 2008 (2:58 PM)Fastlane Tamiya Mini Class Rules
